    This clarification message was added to the SUN Bucks communcation pieced linked earlier, so we are adding it here to maintain consistency as to our plans:

    There seems to still be some confusion, so we are clarifying out intended actions, as many comments added to this idea cover a wide variety of requests:


    We are planning development during the current quarter to make specific upgrades to allow recording in Aeries which students were designated as Free or Reduced based on the UBA (and not the NSLP Application) via a new Source Code. Also, in the same way that districts can make the NSLP application available for download in the parent portal, a customized UBA could also be uploaded into the Parent Portal so they can access it to fill out.

  2. Screening for Risk of Reading Difficulties required by Ed Code 53008

    There is new annual Screening for Risk of Reading Difficulties program beginning in the 2025-56 school year for K-2 students. Part of the requirements are parent notification of Screener results. Aeries is planning development of a feature to facilitate this in our system. This will allow Districts to utilize the results of whatever Screener provider they choose to import into Aeries to allow administrators, teachers and parents to access the results, via the admin, teacher and parent portals.

  3. Request to Change 'Add Record' Button Text to 'Add Insurance' on Insurance Info Page

    Is it possible to change the view and/or language on the add record button in the insurance info page? Currently, it looks like the add button is referring to adding a health problem and not an insurance provider in PDC.

    Could it read add insurance instead of add record?

  4. Add New CDE Attendance Recovery to Aeries to be reported to CALPADS

    I am currently on a CDE webinar and they are discussing a new way to have attendance recovery which must be tracked separately from Reg School Day ADA and Saturday School. It was also stated that this would be reported to CALPADS to contribute to an Alternate Absenteeism Rate and be included in P2/Annual Attendance reporting. How will Aeries build this to keep it separate from Saturday School and allow for accounting for multiple days to make up the daily minute allowance?   5. CALPADS Fall 2 PSTS Extract

    Adjust the logic to not evaluate the Cohort year. CDE indicates the PSTS extract should extract regardless of cohort, the logic needs to be modified to no longer use this as a factor when the extract process is generated.

  6. CALPADS EOY: Behavioral Emergency (BER) Records Not Extracting Without Current Year Assertive Discipline (ADS) Records

    The CALPADS EOY extract is not including Behavioral Emergency Records (BER) unless there is at least one record being reported from Assertive Discipline table (ADS). Enhance the SINC and SIRS logic to include Behavioral Emergency records (BER) even when no current year Assertive Discipline (ADS) records are included in the extract.

  7. TX Final Year Mark: Enhance Final Grade Calculation for Year Long Courses with the Same Service ID for Multiple Courses

    When calculating average marks, the system currently only considers one prior and one current GRD record per Service ID. It does not account for scenarios where multiple GRD records exist for the same Service ID—either multiple current or multiple past marks—potentially leading to inaccurate grade averaging.     Clarifies that LEAs providing traditional independent study must document time value in hours or fraction of an hour for both work products and time spent in computer-based programs (Education Code (EC) Section 51747.5(b)(2)(A)(ii)).

    The documentation of time value in increments of an hour or fraction of an hour must occur before converting the associated time to a day of average daily attendance (ADA) but is not required to be done on an hour-by-hour basis.

    We are tracking info from the CDE on what the changes for Attendance Accounting will be for the various types of instruction covered by AB 176. As soon as we have all the information they intend to collect, and what the draft audit guidelines are, we can begin development on what changes we need to make for the upcoming school year, to be sure our customers can track the information needed for this reporting.

  9. CALPADS - Support importing new MSIN Migrant Extract in 2025-26

    In 2025-2026, CALPADS will have a new Extract file for Migrant Students called MSIN that will come from a separate system. Allow this extract to be imported into Aeries in the Special Programs page.

  10. CAPSDAC Phase 2

    On 3/6/25 CAPSDAC announced Phase 2 of their data collection, which will greatly expand the type of data collected for PreSchool students. There will be multiple new files, similar to CALPADS. We will be meeting with them to try and get the layouts once they are finalized, so we can program it into our system. Please subscribe to this idea if you wish to be informed about the progress.

  11. CAASPP Import Default Date

    A brand-new process was created for ETS test imports, to allow the data file headers to inform the process, instead of relying on existing file layouts. However, that change will require an update to how the default date and testing administration is identified and displayed on the screen.

  13. CALPADS Extract Should ALLOW LEAs to NOT Auto-Populate End Dates for SPRG Files

    When districts generate SPRG files within the last 30 calendar days of the school year, the SPRG file created by Aeries will automatically close out all program records with the last day of school. The 'Do Not Extract Future Dates' does NOT apply to SPRG, it only applies to SENR. Aeries should allow DISTRICTS to determine if/when they auto-close program records in CALPADS prior to the end of school, similar to SENR records. Do not auto-close records prior to the end of the school year.

    There is already request to create a MASS IMPORT feature. However, please make sure that the MASS IMPORT feature allows to override any entry already made.

  18. Birthday Listing Report Year Selector

    Birthday Listing Report - Add an option to specify year to run report. Currently if a month is past Ex: January 2025 and the report is run with the January month option after January 2025 it prints the future year (2026) month information.

  20. Allow changing the font size in Standards-Based Grade comments

    Currently, the formatting box for SBG comments allows bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, and sub/superscript. Add the ability to change the font size too.
