  1. Attendance Recovery Tracking & Reporting

    CDE new mandate requires that students may only earn attendance recovery minutes in full one-hour increments. Fractions of an hour are not eligible to be counted toward recovery. This creates a challenge when tracking student participation. Current Aeries functionality does not automatically differentiate between “time attended” and “time eligible for recovery credit.”
    1. Apply CDE Hour-Block Rule – System calculates and credits only full hours toward recovery.
    Example: 35 minutes = 0 hours earned; 1 hour 45 minutes = 1 hour earned; 2 hours 55 minutes = 2 hours earned

    4/2/26 - Recent updates to Attendance Recovery

    Yesterday’s release contained quite a few items related to Attendance Recovery that we wanted to bring to your attention:

    • We’ve updated our Workflow AR document to make it clear about new set-up tasks that must be completed in order for the process to function properly.
    • A new District Setting for ADA Make-Up has been added and must be defined in order to enable this new functionality.
    • A new field (ATT.AMU) has been added to store Attendance Minutes Utilized when ADA Make-Up is applied for Attendance Recovery.
    • Minutes will be auto-calculated based on the student's Special Ed Alternate Minimum Day, school type, or grade level, depending on which applies.
    • We will be adding a process soon to automatically update the ATT.AMU field for any existing absences previously recovered via AR.

    We've just shipped the final set-up piece to allow the creation of the SUN Bucks Supplemental Submisison extract. The final piece, the EDCS extract itself, is in development, and will be released as soon it passes final testing..


  3. CALPADS 2026–27: New Job Classification Codes for Staff Job Assignments

    To align with CALPADS 2026–27 requirements, Aeries will update the Job Classification Code options available in Staff Job Assignments. New codes will be added for:

    13 – Teacher: Instructional Assignments
    14 – Teacher: Non-Instructional Assignments

  5. CALPADS 2026–27: Update Exit Reason Codes for State Reporting

    To align with CALPADS 2026–27 requirements, Aeries will update the Exit Reason code options used throughout the system. The update will:

    1. Add new exit code T166 – TransAltSchlPrgmDisc
    2. Retire exit codes T167 – TransAltSchlPrgm and T168 – AltIndStdySchlDschrg
    3. Update CALPADS descriptions for codes T160 and T165 where applicable

  6. High Quality CTE Course Indicator for virtual college courses

    In the CALPADS EOY CRSC extract files, college courses (Course Level = 23 or 24) that are assigned a CTE state course code (7000-8999) require a high Quality CTE Course Indicator. The 9.36 field should populate with a Y to indicate the course and teacher meet the High Quality CTE Course qualifications when the college CTE course is virtualized and no section or section school is assigned.

  8. Optimize Page Load Performance on Counseling Page for Students with Many Records

    The Counseling page (Counseling.aspx) experiences performance issues when a student has a large number of counseling records or when the records contain long comments. The page loads slowly when initially accessed, and there are delays when trying to add, save, or delete records.

  10. Make a report to track Chronic Absenteeism

    We need the ability to easily pull Chronic Absenteeism information. Specifically, it would be nice to pull it by a date range; i.e. 8/19/2021 to 9/30/2021. With Chronic Absenteeism being so very important, it would be oh so dandy to have this be a report that we can have our sites run regularly.

  11. Grading Window Timeframes

    We get many districts asking for specific grading windows close times (i.e. 8am, or 3pm). It would be great if the grading windows under Portal Options could accommodate an exact date and time the user could specify. Right now since it defaults to midnight, we have to manually go in and close a window if a site wants it to close at 8am on a particular day.
