1. Transcript Only Valid Marks

   We would like an option to designate certain marks as only being valid on a transcript, but not be valid for teachers to select during grading. An example would be a school that does not issue "A+", but still wants to record it and honor it for transfers.

   Currently if a student has a mark that is not in valid marks (perhaps because they transferred from a school in the same district) the class is dropped from the credits and GPA calculations entirely.

2. Update Online Course Request

   The current online course request structure does not match well with how IUSD does course requests. The current system requires students to select courses from specific subject areas and then offers them the option to select an alternate for that course.

   This is not ideal as it only allows a course-by-course alternate, rather than for prioritization.As the number of electives expands and course options grow wider, students often have three, or even as many as six, "electives." Some of these electives might even meet other subject area requirements, such as taking AP Stat and AP Calc.

   It would be better for us, and probably make more sense in flex scheduling to allow students to enter as many courses as they wish and have each course tagged as either an elective (with a priority order) or a core course.

3. Allow Report Card Type code value to be longer

   Currently STU.RC is limited to 3 characters. This is not enough report card types if we have to create an individual report card for each special education students. COD.CD is limited to 6 characters, and I can probably make that work, but even that will be tight.

4. Aeries API and OneRoster API - Limit by School

   We would like to provide school-site contracted vendors access to Aeries via:
   -- AeriesAPI
   -- OneRoster

   Aeries needs a way to:
   1. Limit the access to select schools during the upload/ API call

   1. Ability to track API login history / upload history ( IP and date )

   2. Ability to set Date-Ranges for access / upload ( to accommodate demos )

5. Public Course Catalog, by School

   Better search/display of the Courses in a 'Course Catalog'. Ideally it would be a form inside of the
   User/Admin/Teacher/Student/Parent portals, as well as publicly accessible. Parents and students would like to
   see the full course description in a clean & clear way to digest the course catalog when they are making
   course requests.

   Instead of exporting the course catalog from Aeries and posting separately online, we would like to direct families ( current, future, & past ) to a PUBLIC link that does not require a sign-in to search courses.

   We would like it search able by subject, department, pre-reqs, course number, grade, description, course name, and uc/csu tags

6. Parent Portal - Email Reconfirmation Option

   Add in a way to force re-verification of parent portal username / email accounts after a set time.

   Issue: Parents are not updating their Parent-Portal email address ( username ). Since we use this email for Teacher communication through Aeries, this causes both bounce-backs and communication problems.

   -- Yearly / Set date of execution.
   -- Parent would get an email with a single link ( no VPC needed again ) to "re-verify" their email.
   -- If the parent didn't verify, parent portal would 'lock' for access and prompt options:
   ----- 1. Re-send verification to email
   ----- 2. Update Email & Username on-file
   *** Bonus feature - purge accounts that have not re-verified in x number of days ( ex. 1 year + ) ***

7. One-Click - Aeries Record Export - For Formal Legal Requests

   Single click button to export ALL student record information a given student.

   -- This information would step through all possible reports.

   -- This would also include raw csv/tsv files for tables.

   Ideally this could be zipped-up and downloaded by a single user account. This would be used to satisfy a Legal records request.

8. Reduce Size of DOC Table - Nightly Process / External Storage Support

   Nightly process to either :

   -- Compress and/or reduce the dpi of documents found in
   the DOC table.

   -- DOC table link-able to another storage platform for cross-year storage to eliminate duplication during roll-over ( examples: Another external DB, Google Team Drive, Amazon Glacier, Share Point ).

   Goals:
   -- Reduce the size of the Aeries Annual DBs
   -- Improve daily performance
   -- Allow for better backup & retention policies.

   Background: In school year 2018-2019 we started using the DOC table to go 'paperless'. While this is a good
   feature for our staff, it caused our DB size to balloon well over 10+ GB. Over the course of a 12 year academic
   record, we anticipate our current-year Database will grow 100+ GB and have roughly the same amount for
   each prior year ( since the documents will duplicate for the rolling over students ).
   Ideally if we could have Aeries reduce the size of the binaries stored ( nightly process, during upload, or
   manual back-end function ) it would be greatly appreciated. Aeries already does a similar process for the Pic
   table ( it keeps a different size image for each student picture upload ).
   Also if the DOC table was stored in an external Database or System ( examples: Another external DB, Google
   Team Drive, Amazon Glacier, Share Point ), we could eliminate the duplication from year-to-year roll-over.
   Also allows each district to set different backup & retention policies for DOCs and for the rest of Aeries.

9. Hide Schedule for Future Term - Improved Logic

   -- Add another option to hide Classes during summer ( no active terms )

   -- Update logic for "Hide Currently Scheduled Classes for Future Terms" to only show when school is in
   session based on 'Terms.aspx'

   Background
   During summer parents are able to complete re-registration. Schools do not want their schedules/classes/teachers to be show to parents/students. The feature above works during active terms,
   just not during summer.

   In order to hide this information, we must change "Portal Groups" for parents & students so they can not see schedules ( SEC, GBS ). This is a painful process when updating 15 schools, 3 portal groups ( parents, students , restricted parents ). This should be automated and mapped to the terms table to make the process easier

10. Aeries DR - Disaster Recovery for On Prem Clients

    Ability for Aeries to keep a hot-spare backup of on-prem AeriesSQL data in the Aeries Hosted Cloud.

    1. District would need a way to send data to Aeries nightly

    2. Ability for Aeries to verify SQL backup was received / checked

    3. Ability for Aeries Hosted to be turned on after an issue

    Would be an added cost, but would provide Districts a solution for Districts experiencing an emergency ( Fire / Cryptolocker issue /
    Server failure / extended power outage / network infrastructure issue ).

    Add ability to setup 'pop-up' confirmation message for certain courses where there is a requirement.

    Example: If a student selects AP English III, we would something to pop up that states "If approved / accepted to this
    course, I acknowledge and agree to complete the summer assignment(s)."

12. Allow Lunch Count for period attendance schools

    Currently lunch count can only be taken at elementary or flex schools that have daily attendance. Taking lunch count in a high or middle school would be desirable. For Flex and Secondary schools with period attendance, there could be a setting denoting the period to take lunch count.

15. 2-Mark Standards Based Grade Report Card

    Allow for a 2-mark Standards Based Grade (SBG) report card. Currently the report card formats are fixed to either 3 or 4 marks. This does not accommodate elementary schools who are semester based, or issue grades only two times per year.

17. Single Page Elementary SBG Report Card

    Allow customization of the elementary report card, to allow for a single-page SBG report card. This would be the same as the current 2-page 2-column format, except on one single page, with the comments on the first page. Very useful for schools that have just a few standards to report on.

19. Print work permits in mass

    Ability to print all work permits at one school site, instead of having to print one by one. Or at least a report with all active work permits per site. Department of Labor requires a report of all active work permits.
