  1. Security Settings - Alphabetize Tables

    In security settings, it would be really nice to have the tables alphabetized or otherwise logically organized so we can more easily find the items we want to update within each section. And if the sections could also be either alphabetized or listed in the same order as the Aeries menu, that would also be very helpful.

  3. Add an automated form of failover to a second source if our firewall is down

    Aeries can only be configured with a single LDAP server and does not currently have the capability to use a backup or failover LDAP server. If an outage occurs, the backup server would need to be manually adjusted. Add an automated form of failover to a second source if our firewall is down.

  4. Deep link the Staff Id on Security users page to go to staff page

    I would like to be able to click on the Staff ID field on the [Users] page, and have it link to the record on the [Staff] page. (Much like how I can click on the UGN.ID field from the [Staff] page, and it takes me to that record on the [Users] page)

  6. Allow more than one SSL certificate to be used for SAML configuration

    Allow for 2 or more different SSL certificates in the SAML configuration page. This would allow for internal and external URLs that are network segregated. This may also work for specific summer school instances where a separate summer URL is setup as well as other potential testing environment configurations.

  8. Need an option to sync UGN.MFA and UGN.MFK to other Database Groups

    When enabling MFA, the keys for each user are stored in the default database for the given group. To help streamline access for districts, an option is needed to propagate those keys to the other default databases within the other groups. Preferably

    Another option would be to instead allow all database groups to get their security exclusively from the Default Database Group while allowing an exception for a sandbox or training group (maybe via an XML config item or a DPT value).

  9. Alert Feature for Specific Login

    Allow district sto assign an alert when a specific user logs into the DB. We will be creating a login for our police department, with limited access, to use so that they can quickly contact families in the event of an emergency. Districts can create a login form MISC or various agencies that have authorized access to students. We would like to be have a feature that alerts our Aeries admin when an agency representative has accessed the DB.

  11. In Permissions Table add Hover that displays table information

    When managing the Permissions, it would be very helpful to have a hover option that provides information on the table and it's impact in using Aeries. With so many tables, this is difficult to understand what all the permissions affect.

  12. Permission start and stop dates/date range

    Would like to add non-year specific dates in permissions to allow and remove access to specific permissions.

    Example: User needs to run a change command once a year between June and July but shouldn't run at any other time.

    Would like to be able to set the permission to turn on the 2nd week of every June and close the 3rd week of every July.

  14. Create a second user category for Multi Factor Authentication

    Having an additional "user" category would enable us to apply Multi Factor authentication to just a select group of users, not all users. Something like "Users" and "Confidential Users".

  16. Add field level permission for the GRD table for Teacher Portal Group

    We use Canvas and export their grades into Aeries. However Canvas do not have comments, and we have to open the grading window to teachers to add their comments.

    It would be so helpful to allow the security module to enable field level permissions for the GRD table. That will allow my district to just have teachers update the comments fields without touching the M1 through M6 marks.

  17. Add more Granular Permissions - Update Own and Delete Own for certain tables.

    It would be nice if we could grant users permission to update or delete records that they enter without giving them access to update or delete records that someone else entered.

    This would be very helpful for staff that we don't want to give update access to everything but we want them to be able to fix / update records they created.

    For example, suppose we give a staff member insert permission to interventions, but not update. The staff member then creates a new intervention record. A short time later they may be given updated or more complete information, or…

  18. Link User Names to User Accounts in Groups and vice versa

    When I search for a Group, I would like to be able to click on a User and either go to their user account or emulate. When I search for a user, I would like to be able to click on a Group assigned to them and open that Group.

  20. Do not allow historical records to be edited - Security Enhancement

    For historical information such as CNF and ADS, it would be nice to prevent changing records that were originally created in a prior year while logged into the current year. So in 2020, although I can scroll down and see CNF or ADS entries from 2019, 2018, etc., I would not be able to modify or delete them (based on date).
