1. Contacts - ParentSquare Issue

   Our District and Parents are struggling with ParentSquare.

   The biggest pain-point is ParentSquare contact syncing from Aeries Contacts.

   Background
   ParentSquare’s ‘hidden’ logic will deny updates/changes if their is a matching phone or email for multiple contacts. Parents ( and our offices ) call confused since the data is in Aeries Contacts for a single student and looks correct. They have limited ability to self-solve this problem, since they are trying to jump through pages comparing each student record in a family.

   What we would like to see

   Aeries Contacts - Ability for a parent to edit contacts for all of their student’s at once. This could be accomplished by adding a button to ‘edit all linked students’ in their Parent Portal. Ultimately we would like to parents to always edit based on STU.FK and PWA.AID / PWS.AID number.

   ParentSquare Status Panel - A form in Aeries ParentPortal/UserPortal to show what information is syncing to ParentSquare by: STU.ID and PWA.EM. This will help ideally self-solve contact record issues. Ideally there is some handshake between ParentSquare and Aeries to ensure the data follows the ParentSquare Logic.

   Aeries Contact Workflow Form - A form that a parent or office can use to step through adding / correcting / removing a syncing contact to ParentSquare.

2. The CON.AN (Attendance Notification) field in Contacts t should default to No.

   The CON.AN (Attendance Notification) field in Contacts defaults to blank. It should default to No.

   Hello! Thank you for this idea.  We are making plans to include it in the Aeries NextGen system. Stay tuned!

3. Contacts - Add Volunteer Info

   Volunteer data is becoming more critical to collect. We are excited to see TB/TB Expiration and Fingerprints/FP Expiration fields now in the Contacts screen.

   Given this lead...we have taken it a step further to use the User Fields to expand collecting information to include identifying contact as a volunteer, DMV, Auto Insurance, Field Trip Orientation, Vehicle Registration & Driver's Licence data.

   We would appreciate having date field to capture the expiration dates for Auto Insurance, Vehicle Registration & Drivers Licence fields.

   This is a great place to identify volunteer info especially for admin & teachers to see who is a cleared volunteer & if their information on file is up-to-date.

4. Parent Portal - Disable the Contacts update by parents outside of Data Confirmation

   I read the aeries_talk yahoo listserv about the contact name disappears if only mailing name is used.
   I shared it with my sites so that they will be sure to enter the last name and first name instead of just entering mailing name.

   I would like to suggest that the mailing name field is grayed out and not editable.

   One of the sites contacted me to ask if parents can be doing the same thing when they update their contact info in Parent Portal.
   I emulated a parent account to see if I can do that. I would usually go to the Data Confirmation page to see if I can test this but I saw that the Contacts page had the edit button and I can make the change there directly.
   I tested this and was able to emulate updating a contact name by clearing the last and first name and only used the mailing name and it resulted in clearing the contact name when saved.
   I am concerned that when parents make changes in the contacts directly instead of going through the Data Confirmation, the sites won’t receive a change notification. Shouldn’t they be able to do it through Data Confirmation only?
