It would be nice to have the option to restrict an individual parent portal account from all things parent portal related - including Data Confirmation.

Currently, restricting the contact still gives them access to Data Confirmation. The reason a contact would get restricted is because they can't play nice with the other parent & constantly try to delete the other parents information.

Using the Secondary Student Data restriction punishes both parents. I can see where that might be needed based on the type of code for the restriction - like overdue lunch bills, etc. But the parent that's cooperating gets restricted as well as the parent who's not cooperating.

Please, either beef up the contact restriction to include restriction from Data Confirmation, or make a way for the two to work together based on a value given to a code (like we have to use the value of 9 for the Contact restriction code) - that way, if 2ndary Student Data is marked with that code, and the contact is marked, they would work together to restrict only THAT contact from Data Confirmation & follow the security set up of the restricted portal group.

The email that is generated from pressing the "Forgot Password" link at the parent portal is being blocked by many domains because of the subject line, "Aeries - Reset Account Password". That subject line looks highly suspicious and we need to be able to edit it to look much more benign, perhaps with “Aeries – Support Request Reply”, instead.

We are asking that Aeries updates the hard-coded subject line or to provide an interface allowing us to configure the subject line and text of any email that the system sends, but at the very least, starting with the Forgot Password email. It has caused countless parents and students much frustration while struggling with all the changes that are occurring with online school and connectivity to the portal anyway.

We are aware of a number of other districts who are having this issue with very large ISPs. In Aeries Talk, specifically, at least three other districts mention this issue and two of them said they had also submitted HelpDesk tickets.

Add in a way to force re-verification of parent portal username / email accounts after a set time.

Issue: Parents are not updating their Parent-Portal email address ( username ). Since we use this email for Teacher communication through Aeries, this causes both bounce-backs and communication problems.

-- Yearly / Set date of execution.
-- Parent would get an email with a single link ( no VPC needed again ) to "re-verify" their email.
-- If the parent didn't verify, parent portal would 'lock' for access and prompt options:
----- 1. Re-send verification to email
----- 2. Update Email & Username on-file
*** Bonus feature - purge accounts that have not re-verified in x number of days ( ex. 1 year + ) ***

Our Assessment department held a meeting with the IT department to brainstorm on how we will get the CAASPP login information to students who are doing online/virtual schooling this year due to COVID. Testing begins in early March.

Is it possible for you to create a simple login tab or report, maybe called ‘State Test Login’? This would live on the parent portal.

The state ID is located under the permanent ID, and our assessment department feels that a lot of parents will write the wrong one down if we don’t simplify it / create a separate page they can print out with the state ID and STU.FN. If it makes this any easier, you could maybe use the login card module you already have in the staff screen and make the student’s information visible to parents in this format.
