Honor New Year Rollover 'Close Program Records' end dates in the SPRG extract
When a district uses the New Year Rollover "Close Program Records" option to end programs and then runs the SPRG extract from the new school year database, the extract does not use the end dates applied during rollover.
What is being requested: When a program is closed during New Year Rollover, the SPRG extract should report that program's actual end date, so districts can run and submit SPRG from the new school year database.
Why this matters: Districts that adopted the "Close Program Records" option reasonably expect to run SPRG from the new year database. Today the extract substitutes a default end date, which CALPADS rejects with an error, forcing extra manual steps and delaying Fall 1 and SunBucks submissions.
Value if implemented: Districts could close programs once during rollover and submit SPRG directly from the new year database without errors or rework.
Current workaround: Close programs in the prior school year database and run SPRG from there.
