Transcript: Enhance TTP/Course : Cross-Averaging of Single-Semester Courses
An enhancement request was posted on May 21, 2021, requesting that single-semester courses with a Course Sequence of "DO" or "0" not be averaged together.
Currently, single-semester courses are being cross-averaged, which can result in inaccurate transcript data. In some cases, students who have failed a course still appear to earn credit because the averaging process incorrectly combines semester grades and awards credit.
The current workaround requires districts to repeatedly run queries and manually correct transcript records after grades are copied each year. This approach is inefficient and increases the risk of transcript inaccuracies.
We would like Aeries to provide an option to exclude single-semester courses with a Course Sequence of "DO" or "0" from the cross-averaging process, ensuring that transcript credit calculations accurately reflect student performance.
