Transcript: Standardize all headers for OCR Consistency
Standardized Student Header Across All Transcript Pages
As part of our migration from ScribOrder to Parchment, one of the key efficiencies we hope to gain is Parchment's ability to automatically retrieve transcripts from our repository to fulfill transcript requests.
However, we have identified an issue with our current transcript format. The placement of the student's name, date of birth, and student ID number is not consistent from the first page to subsequent pages. Because these fields shift locations, Parchment's OCR (Optical Character Recognition) is unable to reliably identify all pages as belonging to the same transcript, preventing the automatic retrieval process from functioning correctly.
We are requesting an enhancement to the transcript format so that the student's name, date of birth, and student ID number appear in the exact same location on every page of the transcript. Maintaining a consistent header across all pages will allow Parchment's OCR technology to accurately recognize and process complete transcripts.
This enhancement will improve compatibility with Parchment, increase automation, reduce manual processing, and help ensure transcript requests are fulfilled accurately and efficiently.
