Dynamic Student Groups should update automatically after imports and mass changes
When districts add or update students in bulk (for example through Import Data to Aeries, a Query change, or a Mass Change), dynamic Student Groups based on student fields do not refresh their membership until someone opens the Student Groups page in Aeries. Until the page is opened, the Student Groups API returns the previous membership, so integrations such as ParentSquare receive outdated group rosters on their next sync.
What is being requested: Dynamic (STU based) Student Group membership should be recalculated automatically after bulk operations such as Import Data to Aeries, Query changes, and Mass Changes, so the Student Groups API reflects current membership without requiring anyone to open the Student Groups page first.
Why this matters: Districts that reassign large groups of students on a schedule (for example at the start of each cycle or term) rely on these groups syncing correctly to ParentSquare. Today they must manually open each group after every bulk change, which is time consuming and easy to miss, and can lead to families receiving communications based on outdated group membership.
Value if implemented: Group membership stays accurate for API consumers immediately after bulk updates, so ParentSquare and other integrations receive current rosters on their next scheduled or manual sync with no manual steps.
Workaround: After any bulk update (Import Data to Aeries, Query CHANGE, or Mass Change), open the Student Groups page for each affected dynamic group to refresh its membership before the next ParentSquare sync. The next manual or nightly ParentSquare sync will then pull the current membership.
