Online Enrollment (classic) Import — honor delete permissions and keep existing records by default
When importing an Online Enrollment record onto an existing student, unchecking an existing Contact, Medical History, Authorization, or Other District Enrollment record deletes it, and existing records are not pre-selected for import. The import should honor each data area's delete permission (records should not be deleted if the user lacks delete rights for that area) and should default a matched student's existing records to selected, so records are not removed without permission or by accident.
Functionality Check Questions and Answers
Q: Should users without Delete permissions for the MHS table be allowed, via the import workflow, to delete Medical History records when importing a student from Online Enrollment?
A: No. A user without delete permission for that data area should not be able to delete records through the import. The enhancement will make the import honor each area's delete permission.
Q: Should existing MHS records automatically default to "selected for import" when an Online Enrollment record is matched to an existing student, to prevent unintentional deletion?
A: Yes. When matching to an existing student, existing records should default to selected so they are not unintentionally deleted. This is included in the enhancement.
Workaround: When importing a student matched to an existing record, manually select every existing record in each section (Contacts, Medical History, Authorizations, Other District Enrollments) before importing, and limit who performs Online Enrollment imports to staff permitted to modify that data.
