Work Permits: Add AB 800 Compliance Acknowledgment and Know Your Rights QR Code to Work Permit Workflow
California AB 800 (EC § 49110.5, effective August 1, 2024) requires that every minor submitting a B1-1 work permit receive a copy of the UC Berkeley Labor Center "Know Your Rights" flyer. Aeries currently has no prompt or audit trail for this requirement. What is being requested: A compliance acknowledgment checkbox that must be checked before the B1-4 can be printed, a QR code on the printed B1-4 linking to the "Know Your Rights" flyer, and user audit fields recording who acknowledged the requirement and when. Why this matters: Districts are legally required to distribute the flyer under AB 800 but have no system-level prompt or documentation to confirm it was done. Value if implemented: Districts can demonstrate AB 800 compliance with a system-generated audit trail, reducing liability and staff reliance on manual reminders. Current workaround: None.
