Student Data Audit: Initial US School Enrollment Date K-12 warning should use grade level instead of student age
The Student Data Audit report returns the warning “The student initial US School Enrollment Date must be greater than 4 years from the student birth date” for students whose Student Initial US School Enrollment Date K-12 is valid for CALPADS, including transitional kindergarten students who were under 4 when they first enrolled. The audit check was based on CALPADS error SINF0059, which CDE disabled in August 2025 and replaced with SENR0733F1 (Fall 1) and SENR0733E1 (EOY 1). These errors no longer look at the student’s age. They check that a student with a Student Initial US School Enrollment Date K-12 is not reported in grade IN or PS, unless the student had a TK through 12 enrollment during the year. The Student Data Audit will be updated to remove the age comparison and instead warn when a student with this date is enrolled in a grade that reports to CALPADS as IN or PS with no TK through 12 enrollment this school year.
Workaround (if available):
The current warning can be disregarded for students enrolled in TK through 12. CALPADS no longer validates the Student Initial US School Enrollment Date K-12 against the student’s birth date, so these records will not produce a CALPADS error for age.
