Allow record selection in the "Mass Change All Day Code Period Attendance" Aeries Page
Currently, on the “Mass Change All Day Code (Period Attendance)” page in Aeries, users can direct the system to search for students who have a minimum number of absence codes across their periods using the option:
“During at least the following number of periods (0 means they must have been absent every class period)”
Our district uses this feature to assign an All Day attendance code when a student is absent for all their scheduled classes (typically four periods). However, an issue arises when students have fewer scheduled classes—for example, only three or even two periods. If the defining value is set to “3,” the list also includes students with four total periods who were absent for three periods. If a student was present for 1/4 classes, our district would consider this scenario as partial attendance and would not constitute an All Day absence code being applied.
While this can sometimes be due to teachers forgetting to mark attendance correctly, there are also cases where a student may have legitimately attended part of the day.
It would be extremely helpful if this page included options such as “Select All,” “Clear All,” or the ability to manually select specific rows. This functionality would allow users to skip certain students—such as those who attended part of the day—so that districts can accurately apply the Mass Change function and correctly claim ADA.
