Our centralized enrollment team wants to be able to track our new enrollments in Aeries that are still pending as they wait for required enrollment items, such as, Proof of Residency, residency verification, etc. Our LEA decided to add this option to the dropdown in the STU.TG (record status field), with the code of “P” and the descriptor of "Pending DSC Approval". This allows our Centralized Enrollment team to easily generate queries specific to these records and is also a way for our attendance and counseling staff at the school sites to be aware that the enrollment is in process, making them better prepared to answer questions if the parent and/or student contacts the school site rather than our Centralized Enrollment office at the main office. The only downfall is the Aeries program, at this time, does not have a way to allow an LEA to add another inactive code that will work in the same manner that the “*” pre-enrollment inactive code works, and our new “P” code causes a two red error messages to generate. Aeries has told us we can ignore the errors and there is no concern that these are impacting any attendance or enrollment reports. This idea is to ask the Aeries programmers to consider resolving this issue and allow LEAs to create inactive status code options that would not cause a concerning red error.
