Seating Chart and Attendance by Photo - allow specifying a default seating chart
Stop the possibility of having 2 default seating charts for one period and add the ability to select which chart is to be the default. Currently the teacher must select a seating chart prior to taking attendance, and there is no option to specify a default. This default seating chart will be the one used to take attendance.

It's ridiculous that this issue hasn't been resolved yet. What would it take to fix it, two lines of code?
Not being able to change a custom seating chart into the default seating chart is baffling. Do you have any programmers who have actually worked in a classroom? Or have common sense at least? -

I only have one seating chart for each period. I deleted the old one. "Current period" is checked on each one. It still shows as custom and won't pop up by default. It makes taking attendance take much longer. I like to do "attendance by photo" because it should make taking attendance faster and more accurate, but only if I don't have to click more things to get to it!

If this is operation by design this is a poor design. This should be viewed as a bug and resolved. This is especially important now with schools needing to use accurate seating charts for contact tracing efforts. Seating charts should be easy to setup and the importance of a default vs custom chart should be easy to understand. Teachers should have the ability to switch the default chart in the event they created a second chart and they keep and maintain that as their primary.

2. If they delete all of their seating charts in a specific period and create a new chart it is only the default if “Current Period” is checked. If Current Period is not checked even though it is the first seating chart it is custom.

Teachers should be notified when they are deleting a default chart and prompted to either select a new chart for that period as the default if a new chart exists or asked if they want to create a new default chart for that period. The seating chart process is not at all intuitive.
