4/2/26 - Recent updates to Attendance Recovery
Yesterday’s release contained quite a few items related to Attendance Recovery that we wanted to bring to your attention:
- We’ve updated our Workflow AR document to make it clear about new set-up tasks that must be completed in order for the process to function properly.
- A new District Setting for ADA Make-Up has been added and must be defined in order to enable this new functionality.
- A new field (ATT.AMU) has been added to store Attendance Minutes Utilized when ADA Make-Up is applied for Attendance Recovery.
- Minutes will be auto-calculated based on the student's Special Ed Alternate Minimum Day, school type, or grade level, depending on which applies.
- We will be adding a process soon to automatically update the ATT.AMU field for any existing absences previously recovered via AR.
- We’ve added the Attendance Recovery Bank page that provides a read-only view of each…

Hi there, thank you for the status update. I am guessing we may need to add a new absence code for when the student has recovered their absence, or will this be an LEA decision? Thank you

We are tracking info from the CDE on what the changes for Attendance Accounting will be for the various types of instruction covered by AB 176. As soon as we have all the information they intend to collect, and what the draft audit guidelines are, we can begin development on what changes we need to make for the upcoming school year, to be sure our customers can track the information needed for this reporting.

Data Validations - It's nice that Aeries offers a base level of data validations. It would be even better if Aeries offered a higher level "bank" of data validations that better aligned with calpads certifications. My thought was that this could be done in a way similar to Aeries Communications, like an "added product" on our annual quote. We could pay for a higher level pre-loaded data validation "bank", then pay annually to keep them updated to keep aligned with certification needs. These bank validations, in combination with our "required fields" could really help with the certification process. Currently, we use another vendor to assist us with keeping our Aeries data "clean" and reporting for with minimal errors. It would be nice to have the option to use Aeries Data Validations. currently, the validations are great for basic level, but not for the level I need to maintain clean certification level data.
