Allow a default answer of "No" for Military Survey, Residency Survey and Homeless survey so parents who do qualify would need to actively change the answer. Hopefully this will eliminate parents who click "Yes" erroneously.2 votes
Defaulting to "No" could also result in erroneous records. The current process of forcing the parents to select a "Yes" or a "No" is the best way to ensure the parent is providing the information.
CALPADS SINF is pulling parent contact names causing an Invalid Character error.13 votes
This is a CALPADS bug on their end. They DO intend to allow these special characters again, so we will not be changing our process at this time. If the
SINF update is needed, the customer either needs to make it manually in OM, or remove the offending characters from Aeries, but ALSO delete the CALPADS log entries for that change (the ones that contain the offending characters) so they won't be extracted also.
We would like a report option to print transcripts with the students immunization record on the reverse side of the page.
We would like the option to print transcripts with the immunization record on the reverse side of the page. This would help with student records retention. The transcript and immunization record are permanent records, required to be kept indefinitely. Many schools are running out of space to store these records. If the two could be combined front to back it would save on storage space.1 vote
Aeries allows for immunizations to be included on the transcript. This can be set up on the Transcript Definition > Things to Print tab. If you are using the 3-column transcript there are some limitations to how much can be printed in the the Things to Print area, you may want to look into using the Enhanced 1-column transcript.
Here is some documentation:
Would be really helpful to be able to copy a teacher record from one site to another.1 vote
With our focus on having a model where individual teacher records are not duplicated at each school, we will be declining this idea at this time. Thank you for your feedback!
TestName in the documentation for AAR is not included but it really should be since assessment data is more meaningful/usable with it1 vote
After further review of TREx Data Standards, we will not be including the subtest scores in the TREx export at this time.
There is a new feature that allows the display of the Student ID directly in the gradebook. It would be helpful to allow the option of showing the “Student Number” instead.1 vote
The Aeries Student ID number is unique to each student, and generally never changes. In the spirit of eliminating the student number throughout Aeries, which does change over time, we have decided to decline this request. It is still open for voting and comments and we will review in the future based on feedback received.
We have a need for the staff id (STF.ID) to be editable. I understand that it is linked to many tables but I am hoping that logic can be created that would update all related tables when STF.ID is edited.2 votes
The Staff ID field (STF.ID) is not editable because it is a unique identifier (primary key) for a staff member, so we do not plan to add any functionality to edit it at this time. This is similar to course IDs which cannot be changed. What can be done is a new staff record could be created and then all references to the old staff ID be changed if absolutely necessary.
Only show ACTIVE teachers when looking at the teachers listed in the teacher table. Have a box to include inactive as an option1 vote
Thanks for your feedback! We will soon be discontinuing the Teachers table in favor of our new Section Staff and Flex Scheduling model which utilizes Staff data. This will not be an issue since the Staff page already supports filtering for active staff members.
We would like the ability for the Online Enrollments Import Process to look through previous year's databases. Parents who had kids attend a school many years prior, but their records never moved to the Inactive School, are not able to be matched to an existing record. This means the district has to manually add the student without using Online Enrollment.1 vote
Thank you for your idea. The use of an inactive school is a recommended procedure in Aeries. If there are students not in the inactive school, it may be prudent to work with our support team to do a one-time cleanup process to move all missing students to the current year inactive school.
