    7/22/25 Update:

After researching the requirements for the Reading Difficulties Risk Screenings with the relevant CDE staff, we have determined that the best place to store the screener results wil be im the Program Screenings table. Although this was originally developed to use in Texas for similar Dyslexia Screenings, it is available to all our customers. It appears on the Special Programs page as a separate accordian. We will be creating a new fixed code (RDR) to use on that page, and a set of results ranging from Not Screened to whether a risk was found or not as a result of the screening. Development on this will be beginning shortly. Here is the current documentation on Program Screenings: Special Programs - Program Screenings.

We consistently are asked to add summons permissions for our Push/Pull Certificated Staff like Intervention Coordinators, TOSAs, and SPED TOSAs. We have to change their account type to User in order to achieve this. This is not sustainable. This Idea is a MUST not a wish.

This clarification message was added to the SUN Bucks communcation pieced linked earlier, so we are adding it here to maintain consistency as to our plans:

    -----------------

There seems to still be some confusion, so we are clarifying out intended actions, as many comments added to this idea cover a wide variety of requests:

We are planning development during the current quarter to make specific upgrades to allow recording in Aeries which students were designated as Free or Reduced based on the UBA (and not the NSLP Application) via a new Source Code. Also, in the same way that districts can make the NSLP application available for download in the parent portal, a customized UBA could also be uploaded into the Parent Portal so they can access it to fill out.

The actual collecting of the UBA, analyzing the responses, assigning the status to a student, and conducting audits would…

We were just informed yesterday in a CALPADS Vendor call that there is updated guidance regarding Attendance Recovery (AR) sessions. We are analyzing this information and making modifications to our business logic, but thought it was best to let our customers know about this guidance, so they can plan their Attendance Recovery sessions accordingly.

The CDE interpretation of the legislation makes this point:

    • A student may generate a day of attendance for apportionment by participating in Attendance Recovery (AR) over multiple days, accruing time in hourly increments (EC Section 46211(e)(1))

There is an FAQ for Attendance Recovery maintained by CDE here: CDE has indicated that it will be updated shortly confirming the following clarifications.

    • When participation time on a day is less than one hour, that time does not accrue towards meeting the applicable minimum daily minute requirement.
    • Fractions of an hour do not carry forward. For…

This directly impacts our school funding and as prices rise for services (across all area of education) districts can use the information received through the surveys to help fund those areas. Making this required has become a necessity.

This would help tremendously with supporting our school staff and technology department new hires. It would also help to identify areas of opportunity for professional training.

NSLP info is critical to us being able to qualify for Federal Funding. It is imperative this data is clean and this would help us to identify and address anomalies.
