This clarification message was added to the SUN Bucks communcation pieced linked earlier, so we are adding it here to maintain consistency as to our plans:
-----------------
There seems to still be some confusion, so we are clarifying out intended actions, as many comments added to this idea cover a wide variety of requests:
We are planning development during the current quarter to make specific upgrades to allow recording in Aeries which students were designated as Free or Reduced based on the UBA (and not the NSLP Application) via a new Source Code. Also, in the same way that districts can make the NSLP application available for download in the parent portal, a customized UBA could also be uploaded into the Parent Portal so they can access it to fill out.
The actual collecting of the UBA, analyzing the responses, assigning the status to a student, and conducting audits would…

We are in the process of separating the different types of portal options into phases so they can be developed and released in smaller increments. That will help us deliver them in stages, rather than waiting for the entire project to be finsihed & released all together.

Per our district nurse: We would like to change the "Vision Appraisal" box to "Near Vision P/F" to record near vision results. The existing "Near" vision boxes under "No Glasses" and "Glasses" are used for recording acuity numbers, which we only record when a person fails. We need a dedicated "Near Vision P/F" box, similar to the "Results P/F" box used for distance vision, to document pass/fail results.
The CA Ed Code requirement for near vision screening is found in section 49455. The specific mandate is that the vision screening must include a test for near vision. This is part of the comprehensive vision screening required for students.
