   Please add fields for student previous name for those who have had legal name changes, and make it searchable. There is no place to cross reference when students have legal name changes causing confusion and duplicate records being created instead of merged.

   We have several students with legal name changes, some due to gender identity and some as a result of adoption. The birth certificate name is no longer their legal name, but there are records connected to the previous legal name. Without the ability to enter a previous name, it creates issues for registrars and CALPADS.
