District Attendance Letters - create log of letters sent by email
Parents email addresses change and we need to be able to verify to what email address a letter was sent and when. It would be great if there was a log that showed the email address that the attendance letter was sent to and the DTS of when the letter was generated.
1 voteFor District Attendance Letters, parent email addresses are logged to the CBD table, along with other information about delivery, and can be queried from within Aeries.

Can Aeries possibly eliminate duplicate credit on transcripts? For example when a student retakes a class because they earned a D
Eliminate duplicate credits by zeroing out credits after a student retakes English, world civ, US history, government, econ.
1 voteTo eliminate duplicate credits on the transcripts, the Repeat Tag feature can be used. For more information about this feature the following document can be reviewed: https://support.aeries.com/support/solutions/articles/14000071849-adding-editing-a-student-s-transcript

Alternate Course Request - Sorting Option
Alternate Course Request priority sequence display in the final sequence order. Students may remove a course and add another, which defaults to last, therefore instead of the courses displaying as 1-5 the order is 2-6. Please see the example below.
1 voteThe sort priority can be queried by using the Priority Sort (ACR.SRT) field, instead of the Sequence field. The sequence field is an internal ID number, not necessarily the correct sort order.

Add a Staff Employment History Record option
I think it would also be great if Aeries could include a "Staff Employment History" in the Staff form. It could be optional.
We have staff members that have retired and returned to sub and it would be nice to be able to reactivate their record with an additional start date; leaving their permanent employee status part of the staff record to still include their hire date and permanent employee leave date in their full time position.
We also have staff that have been classified and employed for several years in that classification, and have a hire date for Classified.…
1 voteStaff employment history can be tracked in Aeries by utilizing the Staff Job Assignments (STJ) feature, and is already equipped to handle starting and ending dates and other historical information. This is accessible from the Staff page.

Teachers submitting without marking anyone absent
I thought there was a report that you could run that showed when teachers only hit the submit button and never mark any students absent. I know there are a few at my school who do this. The problem they create, especially during DL, is that they leave one class as the student being present, which generates ADA for the student when there shouldn't be. With DL, we can't assume the student didn't log in for just one period like we can when they are here in person. There are way too many for me to email teachers to double…
1 voteThe Period Absence Audit will catch these types of errors. That’ll show kids who were present in one class and absent in all the rest, and it offers to sort by teacher.

Attendance Audit Trail
It would be helpful to be able to easily see who & what changes have been made to a student's attendance record.
1 voteHello! We have existing functionality for this which tracks attendance changes throughout the system. The Attendance Log report would be helpful for your request. Here is some information for you.

Attendance by week
It would be very helpful to be able to see the attendance for the week on one page and be able to edit the attendance for any day of the week on one page rather than having to drop down and change the day when attendance is finalized at the end of the week.
1 voteThe ability edit attendance is based on options set by the district.

Course sequences to have a gap in the semester to accommodate for CTE Pathways
The Academic Plan course sequences won't allow for a gap in the sequence for things like CTE pathways. We have a 1 semester intro class that must be completed before moving on to the 2 semester concentrator. Since the concentrator needs to be taken the next school year, there needs to be a gap in the sequence to put the entire pathway into an academic plan. Our students cannot use the Multi-year function because of this.
1 voteGaps in course sequences can be accommodated by utilizing the “Default Year” field on the Course Sequences page.

CALPADS Extracts - Extract Nonbinary Gender as Code X to Match CALPADS Codes
When pulling gender data for CALPADS, have all students with a gender of Nonbinary (N) pull as X in CALPADS Extracts. The CALPADS code for Nonbinary is X, so I have to manually update each extract before I can upload it to CALPADS, which is time consuming and a pain.
Thank you.
1 voteThis can already be accomplished by using the CALPADS Code Translations.

Mass email transcripts to students
Ability to select multiple students to generate transcripts then push a button to deliver each one to the correct student email.
1 voteIf the district has it enabled, parents are able to print student transcripts from the parent portal.
We would recommend sending out an email to students alerting that this is available online.

Hide modules that don't apply to the district / schools
There are certain sections/modules within Aeries that we just don't use - it would be really nice to be able to have a page that lets us indicate which modules we'd like to hide from view - either by district or school or both.
For example:
In the Analytics section - we are a K-8 district, so nothing having to do with AP tests or SAT scores needs to be displayed.
One of our schools uses Grades / one uses SBG. Why do both sections display for both schools?
We don't use Supplemental Attendance, Financials, Service Learning, or District Assets…
1 voteGeneral Aeries users will not see a page or feature within Aeries unless they have appropriate permissions to that page or feature. Security can be applied at either the group or individual user level.

Custom Messages to Display On Initial Login
Allow for custom messages to be shown inside of Aeries upon initial login and possibly a banner at the top of the page for announcements. Announcements could include messages about downtime, known issues, and ideally could be displayed based on permission groups.
2 votesHello! This feature is already available by using the update Global Messages feature to set School or District messages that display on the Home page.

Transcript Class Rank - Ability to phase out by grade level
Currently we provide the class rank on our transcripts. We would like to begin the process of phasing this program out by grade level.
2 votesHello! We have a feature called “GPA Configuration Page” that is available. Multiple custom GPAs can be created and it can be used to phase out the Class Rank. It is a “beta” feature and is only available to early adopters. It can be run in a sandbox copy of your database. You would need to contact the Support department for more information. Below is more documentation:

Flex Scheduling - Allow Sections to be Linked for a Class
Flex Scheduling is wonderful. What would make it even more wonderful would be to allow us to link sections that together make up a class - and then being able to customize that class name would be the icing on the cake. :)
We have to create separate sections for classes that meet at different times on different days, but for teachers / gradebooks / grades / schedule viewing it would be REALLY useful to let us link certain sections together so they can be managed as a whole instead of having to tweak a field on each of three…
2 votesThis is already a feature. See Class Links.

Fees and Fines link to District Assets
Fees and Fines are not automatically set to show District Assets unless you add them in. You have to look in both places to make sure all fees are inputted and/or check them off for returns.
1 voteThe Fees and Fines page currently displays the asset barcode and title, if that asset was associated with the fee at the time the fee was added.
Here is some information about the District Assets Fees process in Aeries: https://support.aeries.com/support/solutions/articles/14000066890-district-assets-fees

I would like to be able to run a class roster report for Alt Ed scheduling that shows the actual course name.
Please include teacher name, actual course name, and the students enrolled in that course.
1 voteIf you select the following options when printing a Class Roster, the actual Course Name will display.
Sort – “Teacher/Period”
Sort – “Course Name, Student”
Option – “Print Course with Student”
- Don't see your idea?
