4/2/26 - Recent updates to Attendance Recovery
Yesterday’s release contained quite a few items related to Attendance Recovery that we wanted to bring to your attention:
- We’ve updated our Workflow AR document to make it clear about new set-up tasks that must be completed in order for the process to function properly.
- A new District Setting for ADA Make-Up has been added and must be defined in order to enable this new functionality.
- A new field (ATT.AMU) has been added to store Attendance Minutes Utilized when ADA Make-Up is applied for Attendance Recovery.
- Minutes will be auto-calculated based on the student's Special Ed Alternate Minimum Day, school type, or grade level, depending on which applies.
- We will be adding a process soon to automatically update the ATT.AMU field for any existing absences previously recovered via AR.
- We’ve added the Attendance Recovery Bank page that provides a read-only view of each…

This idea has been analyzed to be included in future modernization efforts for the Medical component of Aeries. However, there is no decision yet as to when it might appear on our roadmap.

For teachers, in order for the "Refer to Intervention" button to appear, three requirements must be met:
1. They must have proper permissions
2. They must have an entry in Details
3. There must be at least one entry of the Parent Meetings and Contact tab

Please adjust the UI to enhance the differentiation of Pages/Reports/Favorites and Filter Pages functions by using distinct colors for each. Currently, there are four distinct functions grouped within a single color block, see attached screenshot.

As the state now requires CCLC/Assets data to be reported in hours, we would like to request that the Excel version of the report calculate data in hours. All other versions (PDF, TXT) of this report calculate in hours, however, Excel converts the data to minutes.

Losing the ability to post attendance by month puts an additional work load on our Independent Study teachers. Now, with flex scheduling they have to select every day individually in the attendance month and submit one day at a time. Before they saw all of their students for the month and entered the 20 days at one time for all of the students in the class. If this could be a priority to fix, I know that our teachers would appreciate it.AdminAllison

From User: So we are between a rock and a hard place. The state of California is telling us we cannot "out" these kids to their parents, yet, we have no way of protecting the information from their parents finding out. This opens us up to "right to privacy" lawsuits. If a student tells us not to share with their parents and we have no way to protect them. This issue is only going to get bigger as more and more students are opting to change to a preferred name and gender. We maybe had 1 or 2 students through out the district in the past. Currently we have 6 students at one school. I really hope Aeries consults with their legal team about how your programs will need to safe guard a student's right to privacy. This is a hot issue right now that needs to be addressed now.
