  1. FAFSA Completion Recording to Comply with CA State Law

    California is now requiring schools to have students completed the FAFSA or get a waiver or opt out form signed by the parent. We would love to see a spot built in to the counseling area to record that a student has completed this or that an opt out form is on file. If we could upload that signed form too, that would be a huge bonus.

    Covid testing students who were sitting in the vicinity of a positive tested student need to be identified
    The new and improved seating charts would be a great tool to assist with the process.
    If a teacher creates their seating chart based on the Attendance by Photo - Old, then administrators are able to run the Classroom Photo/Seating Chart report. The newest version attendance by photo seating chart does not print.

    Is there any means for us to make this capability available to anyone other than teachers? Admin, Office staff?

  4. LTEL Import needs to be updated for the new file format

    The full state Long-Term English Learner (LTEL) file from the California Department of Education has changed formats from the previous year. The file is unable to be processed in Aeries in the new format in the LTEL Import function.

    Programming needs to adjust the LTEL Import process.

    Hello, this issue has been resolved with the 9/24/2020 update. Here are the Revision Notes:

    CALPADS Extracts – The LTEL Import has been updated to handle the new Long-Term English Learner file. The file is now a fixed-width file, instead of the tab-delimited from previous years, and has an additional column. The import will no longer support files from previous years.

  5. Demographics - Online Enrollment Import - Sort by Enroll Date

    Set the Student Import Screen to sort by "Enroll Date" not "Enroll ID". It's difficult to find the most recently enrolled student when you have a huge list of enrollees sitting in the import screen.

    If that is not doable then give the option of sorting by "Enroll Date".

  6. SSID MATCH TOOL PROCESS DOWNLOAD FILE NEEDS ADJUSTING TO ALIGN WITH CALPADS 23-24 changes

    The logic in the SSID Match process is using the SENR layout when the file is produced which needs to be updated to align with the CALPADS 23-24 rollover changes that went into effect on 9/19/2023. The file being produced needs an additional column added to accommodate the STU.GEX field.

    Remove the option for None of the Above/Decline to State from the survey in Parent Data Confirmation and Online Enrollment​. Parents/Guardians will need to select one of the 4 homeless options or the single-home residence.

    Hello, the idea (or bug) has been completed in the 6/15/2023 update.  Here are the Revision Notes:

    • Portal Options - The Housing Questionnaire no longer displays option 999-Decline To Answer Based on California Department of Education feedback.  See Portal Options - Residence Survey Changes for the CDE 2021 Housing Questionnaire
    • Parent Data Confirmation / Online Enrollment - The Decline to Answer option was removed from the Housing Questionnaire based on California Department of Education feedback. Users must now select one of the five options before proceeding. The alert message was revised accordingly.

    The Golden State Seal Merit Diploma (GSS) has added the CA Science Test (CAST) in grades 10 or 11 as an additional method to demonstrate mastery in Science. Please add this to the Golden State Seal page.

    Would like the ability to print the Attendance Summary Report by grade and by program from the District level. This is currently only available at the school level.

    We have released this feature with the 3/12/2020 update. The Summary of Students report can now be run from the district.

  12. Query Report won't page break when using any Extended Field in Query

    When including any Extended Field in a query and attempting to use the Page Break option from the Report button, the page break will not work.

    Hello, this work item has been completed and was released on 11/19/24. Here are the relevant revision notes: 

    • Query - The query report did not insert page breaks correctly when sorting by extended fields. The page breaks are now inserted correctly in the report when sorting by extended fields.

  14. Flex Attendance - Highlight Current Day

    It is easy to lose the current day in the new horizontal att calendar when scrolling. It is still highlighted in Elem w/MST and secondary school types but not Flex.

    Hello, a fix for this issue was released on 07/16/2024. Here are the relevant revision notes:

    • Student Data > Attendance - For schools using Flex Scheduling, the following features were added to enhance functionality:
    • The Options button was added which opens a window providing the following settings:
    • Show Flex Period Time - If selected, the period start and end times are displayed in H:MM format. The setting remains saved even after leaving the page or logging out of Aeries.
    • Show Teacher - If selected, the teacher names are displayed.
    • The section number is now displayed next to each course.
    • The current date is highlighted in yellow.


  15. Option to remove the "add student" option to Student Portal Accounts

    Currently, students can "Add New Student" to their Student Portal Accounts. There is no reason for this option when we're mass creating accounts and it doesn't make sense why they would ever allow students to add students to their own portal accounts.

  16. Golden State Seal & State Seal of Biliteracy

    Would like the ability to Export the students along with their qualifying data (same as on the report) to Excel. This will make it easier for staff to review and add additional information, missing students, or remove students. We use the final Excel file to add the ACT records after each school has also been reviewed by the district office. We do not use the form to mass add the records, and cannot use it for the biliteracy as we have a seperate record for each students language.

    Hello, This was completed in the Aeries update on 8/25/2022.  Here are the Revision Notes:

    CALPADS Extracts - The SPRG extract now provides multiple extract files consolidated into a single zip file due to import process changes made by CALPADS. The sub-files are pre-pended with a three-digit number indicating the order in which they should be uploaded (e.g., 001, 002, 003, etc.)

  20. Security pages - sticky headers when you scroll

    Please make the security pages have the top row headers (with read, update, insert, delete, etc.) frozen/sticky when you scroll down so you know which one to check as you are going down.
