Thank you for your feedback, and please tell us more. Why would you not want to collect the student’s nickname? Please use the comments to elaborate.

Sometimes the nickname is not caught by the enrollment secretary, because the parent/guardian reads nickname vs alias, other name used. When it is caught it usually has already been reported to CALPADS.

Maybe an option in Aeries, that indicates "update other students with the same family key" and then a reply that lists which students it affected, so the user can notify other sites involved.

I believe that if you set up for the educational right holder, and only the parent that should be making changes can do that, but you would have to tag all your parents with portal access, with Y, then go in and put N for those that are not playing nice. Also, you may consider a restricted records, which would block the contacts from the parents and they would have to contact the office for changes. Lastly, you can always change the parent account that is not playing nice to a student account.

We are in the process of separating the different types of portal options into phases so they can be developed and released in smaller increments. That will help us deliver them in stages, rather than waiting for the entire project to be finsihed & released all together.

I just received a request from a site asking if we can display red flags in the Teacher attendance page. I think it is a good idea if, the Profile icon, attendance icon or contact icon changes color to indicate an active flag.
