This clarification message was added to the SUN Bucks communcation pieced linked earlier, so we are adding it here to maintain consistency as to our plans:
-----------------
There seems to still be some confusion, so we are clarifying out intended actions, as many comments added to this idea cover a wide variety of requests:
We are planning development during the current quarter to make specific upgrades to allow recording in Aeries which students were designated as Free or Reduced based on the UBA (and not the NSLP Application) via a new Source Code. Also, in the same way that districts can make the NSLP application available for download in the parent portal, a customized UBA could also be uploaded into the Parent Portal so they can access it to fill out.
The actual collecting of the UBA, analyzing the responses, assigning the status to a student, and conducting audits would…

I would like to request that the income survey, or whatever it may be updated to, has an option to NOT automatically create a FRE record. I'd much rather have a file of the data collected that I can export to nutrition services to review and verify and have a processing window where I can DE-select certain records before adding the FRE record. maybe more similar to the UC ELC extract, where it will process the data collected from data confirmation survey, and show me the results of students and allow me to download a CSV file. Then after nutrition services reviews it I can uncheck students we don't want to include before "processing" the rest to create a FRE record for them. I end up with many duplicated or conflicting records due to parents filling out the data confirmation survey as well as a form with nutrition services, and the data nutrition services sends me will either be a duplicate or have a conflicting determination for the student. I also end up with a mis-match of eligibility dates.

I would also like to request the term set up be similar to the update code table, since I need to set up all new terms I would need to be able to inactivate the previous ones to prevent them from being used going forward.

Yes please I would like to see a whole new set of terms created if possible. Our district did not set them up correctly in the beginning and I'm not able to correct it now. we have some schools on quarters, some on trimesters and some on semesters. since all of the them were set up differently, term 1 is showing at one school as Q1 but as S1 at others, and the really big issues is that term 2 is showing as spring semester at one school but only as Q2 at others or vice versa. so as our kids transfer around our district, their transcript gets really confusing as the terms don't match up. the only way i can see to correct it would be to have a whole new code set for me with 2 digit or 2 character codes and have all my sites set up with ALL of the new codes and stop using the orginal ones. which would also mean that I would need both sets of codes though so the existing transcripts dont' get even more jumbled. right now I just have a complicated mess with no real way to clean it up.
Q1 - quarter 1

Q3 - quarter 3
Q4 - quarter 4
S1 - Semester 1
S2- Semester 2
SS - summer school
T1 - trimester 1
T2 - trimester 2

We run this report for school sites every week. Having to weed through to see if they have actual errors in between all the warning is creating confusion at the sites. Please allow the option to ignore the warnings while running the report.
