For the 2020-2021 school year, schools are adding 'Engagement" attendance codes for teachers to mark for every students. This is in accordance with the new SB-98 CA legislation.
This idea was provided during the LACOE Attendance Symposium on 8/13/20. Teachers would like the ability to select a particular engagement attendance code and mass add it to all students then if needed, deselect appropriate individual students when appropriate thus saving time selecting codes for each individual student.
Similar to how teachers mass add assignment results in the Aeries Gradebook.22 votes

For Elem w/MST using Daily Attendance, on the Instructional Minutes Certification page, all the departmentalized sections appear for the teacher to certify. However on the Weekly Engagement Report, only the section taking Daily Attendance is visible. All the sections need to appear on the report.7 votes

We have a K-8 School that uses period attendance. The k-3 students only have 1 teacher for period 0. They would need to enter grades using Standards based Grading. However the remainder of the school grades 4-8 use regular grading. We would like the ability to offer both in one school based on grade level. The only alternative right now would be splitting the school up into 2 different school sites, which is a logistical nightmare for both reports, integrations, etc.6 votes
Hello! This feature has been added as of the 6/17/2021 Aeries version! Here is the revision note:
Options were added to allow doing both Elementary Standards Based Grading (SBG) and Secondary Grade Reporting (GRD) in the same school and to define the grades that each apply to. These options are for future use in Aeries.
Long-Term subs need the ability to certify the Weekly Instructional Minutes page since they are the ones instructing students at this time and tracking the participation in Attendance.7 votes

Hello, this item has been completed in the 2/19/21 Out-Of-Band Update. Here are the Revision Notes:
1) A new setting was added under Other Options to force Parent/Guardian information (SINF/SIAD) to be extracted exclusively from STU.PG and STU.PED. The option is deselected by default. See CALPADS Extracts – Other Options Tab
2) The Parent/Guardian Highest Education Level will always be pulled from STU.PED, even when processing Guardian information from the CON table. This will remain in place until CALPADS changes the SINF file layout in preparation for 22-23.
Please add CA State Code Highlighting to the Internships page, based on the Work-Based Learning Type selected so customers can see what fields are required when doing data entry.8 votes

The Period View option was added to allow toggling from a Timeline View to a Period View, and vice versa. While in Period View, the new Period Filter allows filtering out the desired periods to display on the board. All functionality is similar to the SMS Board, including button click and drag-and-drop.
I know this was done by design because districts specifically requested that inactive teachers be suppressed from the drop-down lists, but this is affecting teachers that left mid-year now too! So now we can't audit the minutes certifications for any teacher that left mid-year. This is an audit issue! We need to access inactive teachers, so can it please be added as an option we can check on the Weekly Instructional Minutes page.3 votes

When using the Import Data to Aeries to import TCH records, if Staff ID is included / mapped, the import skips the records. Importing TCH records is successful when the Staff ID field is not included.1 vote

A new extract is being created to submit data related to student internships, student-led enterprises, and virtual/simulated work-based learning. This Work-Based Learning (WBLR) file will be submitted and certified as part of the CALPADS End-of-Year (EOY) 1 submission. Work-based learning provides additional opportunities for students to demonstrate their preparedness for college/career through the College/Career Indicator (CCI) on the California School Dashboard.11 votes

The new Work-Based Learning (WBLR) extract was added. The extract information is pulled from the recently updated Internships (ISP) table. The extract is located on the EOY tab. Refer to the documentation for more detailed information. See CALPADS Extract – EOY – Work-Based Learning (WBLR) and Internships.
The code descriptions for STU.SWR & STU.EOY need to be updated for the following codes: E450, E400, E140. The descriptions currently do not match the CALPADS definitions. Therefore we continue to have the clerks code elementary students with the 450 code, and the others are also used for the incorrect age of the student.
We have updated our code table for ATT.RS to reflect the correct descriptions, but are unable to update the codes in STU.7 votes

For SB 98, we have instructed our Daily attendance teachers to fill in DL Engaged or DL Not Engaged as an Daily Attendance note. We need a way to pull the teachers that have missing filling in the Daily notes. Just like we run for missing attendance, we need tor run for missing notes.8 votes
