An update has been posted to the Known Issue Informational Post regarding Attendance Recovery LINK
3/27/26 - Coming Soon:
Final testing is being conducted on a large update to Attendance Recovery process, which will allow accurate tracking of earned versus utilized time.
Key changes will include:
- Attendance Recovery hours earned are stored at the session level and will be summarized for reporting.
- When an absence is recovered, Minutes Utilized are automatically tracked on the attendance record (ATT.AMU).
- A new Attendance Recovery Bank (ARB) page will be available for California districts, providing a read-only view of all students' AR summary data. Currently only students who have ATD records linked to Attendance Recovery will be visible on this page. We are planning a further enhancement to allow showing all students with recoverable absences on this page.
- A Mass Calculate button on the ARB page will allow authorized users to trigger recalculation of…

I would like to resurrect this idea! We have so many issues every year with the schools picking whatever they want out of the courses table with no knowledge of what that course actually is. PowerSchool actually has a function like this where every school has their own course catalog. The courses are district-wide, but you have the ability to permission the courses to each school. So courses like English 9 would be permissioned for every high school, but specific CTE courses would be permissioned only to the sites that actually teach that pathway.

This would be great, especially for CTE courses that are created for specific schools.

Hello, the STAS file layout has been updated to include the Attendance Recovery Days column. The data will extract with 0 at this time. The business rules will be implemented later closer to the time it will be collected in the EOY CALPADS submission.
CALPADS has informed all vendors that they will be implementing the new layout in a couple weeks, closer to the end of September. LEAs should refrain from uploading any STAS extracts until CALPADS has implemented these changes.
As a reminder, the STAS extract is not required to be submitted until the End of Year submission.

It would be super helpful to be able to import into CRS, STF, EMP for non-student related tables. I have inserted data into these tables in SQL, but I would love to be able to do so directly through the UI.

The "Households" concept that will be introduced with Aeries NextGen should handle this situation. Thank you for submitting the idea!

I'm coming back to this idea because this is still so critical for our large district. It could function like the Summer School Courses page, but have the regular year schools and regular terms. It would be great if these could roll from year to year, but I really need to be able to limit which courses each school is allowed to offer each year. Example: While many high schools all offer the same courses, CTE courses are only offered at specific schools for specific pathways. However, since any school can choose any course, schools will sometimes choose a CTE course, because it "sounds like" what they want to teach, and they have no idea that it's CTE and requires a CTE credential. 2nd example: high schools are able to choose middle school courses, despite the high grade of the course being set as 8.
