  1. Screening for Risk of Reading Difficulties required by Ed Code 53008

There is new annual Screening for Risk of Reading Difficulties program beginning in the 2025-56 school year for K-2 students. Part of the requirements are parent notification of Screener results. Aeries is planning development of a feature to facilitate this in our system. This will allow Districts to utilize the results of whatever Screener provider they choose to import into Aeries to allow administrators, teachers and parents to access the results, via the admin, teacher and parent portals.

Hello, this work item has been completed and was released on 5/12/26. Here are the relevant revision notes:

CALPADS Extracts > EOY > LEAP Extract:

    • The Update ELOP Calculation process could create duplicate PGM-194 records because existing current-year records were not checked before new ones were added. The process now checks for an existing current-year PGM-194 record before creating a new one, preventing duplicates from being generated.
    • ELOP Days were calculated without filtering by academic year, potentially updating prior-year records. The process now only populates ELOP Days for PGM-194 records active in the current academic year, bypassing prior-year records.
    • Each time the extract button was clicked, the Suggested Date would reset to the first day of school regardless of the date that had been entered. The Suggested Date now retains the entered date when the button is clicked.
    • The LEAP extract was skipping PGM-194 records that started on or after…
  3. Expanded Learning Opportunities (ELOP) - The ability to track and report Student registration and participation is needed for 25/26 SY

A method is needed to track the ELOP opportunities that students are registered for and participating is needed for the 25/26 school year. It will now be incorporated into the CALPADS process. The districts would benefit tremendously from having this. I know in California we need it! It will help with reporting state information to see and compare how it relates to the funding we receive.

Hello, this work item has been completed and was released on 4/1/26. Here are the relevant revision notes:

    • The New Year Rollover process now supports per-program configuration for closing and reopening Program (PGM) records. District administrators can choose one of three actions for each program code — retain records as-is, end open records with a specified date, or end current-year records and automatically create new ones for the upcoming school year. This flexible, program-by-program approach replaces the previous single-action method.
    • The New Year Rollover page has been updated to allow users to granularly specify programs close-out dates, and/or re-open dates.
    • The Close Out Open Programs (PGM) configuration option on the Settings tab now includes an option in the configuration modal allowing the user to set the Action for all Programs listed to other than the 'Do Nothing' default setting.

  7. Student Programs Report needs an option for "Active Programs Only"

The Student Program Report is printing information for programs that have an end date. When the report is run for the Transitional Kindergarten program, it shows results for students who were in the program the previous school year and have since had an end date added. An option needs to be added to only display Active/Current program information.
