  1. PSTS-Need ability to record multiple CALPADS Post-Secondary Status

Brandi with CDE confirmed that CALPADS is supporting multiple status codes for one student. We were not aware of this when we reviewed and programmed the PSTS extract based on the new code set and the file layout.

WORKAROUND: We will make adjustments in the future, but for the current Fall 2 PSTS reporting, we are only extracting one status code per student.

Hello, this idea/bug has been completed in the 11/06/20 update. Here are the Revision Notes: The PSTS extract was adjusted according to the latest CALPADS specification. The new Post-Secondary Survey (PSS) table is used for the extract, and the SSD table is no longer used. The Post-Secondary Survey table is located as a separate tab on the Secondary Student Data page. 2. Dual Enrollment Summer Term Should Be Extracted to CalPads

Currently Dual Enrollment courses that count as High School Credits but are taken through local colleges over the summer are not extracted for reporting to CalPads so long as they are added as a Summer Term. The problem is that if they are entered as a Fall/Spring Term then the data is inaccurate in Aeries and also it confuses Parents/Students because on the Transcript it prints under the Fall/Spring Term.

There should be a way for Summer Term classes entered on the transcript that are specially marked as Dual Enrollment courses to be extracted to be uploaded to CalPads. These…

Hello, this idea has been completed in the 07/02/2020 update. Here are the Revision Notes:

College courses taken during summer terms will now be included in the CRSC/SCSC extracts for CALPADS EOY processing so they can be included for student College/Career Indicators.

  3. Add Peace Officer to the Behavioral Emergency Staff Type Dropdown

Per CDE the restraints and seclusions made by peace officers should not be reported to CALPADS. We do know that it is required for Civil Rights Data Collection. Can a code be added to the BER Staff Type dropdown to identify mechanical restraint instances performed by peace officers?

Hello, this item has been completed in the 06/18/2020 update. Here are the Revision Notes:

Behavioral Emergency – A new field has been added to this page to allow tracking the reason of the restraint/seclusion. There are no default/state codes. All the codes are user-defined and they are not reported to CALPADS.
Additionally, after clarification from CDE, the Staff Type description has been adjusted to “02 – District police officer, school resource officer (SRO) or other Peace Officer NOT performing an arrest”. Any BER record containing this code will not be reported to CALPADS. If a student is restrained while being arrested, a disposition code for Arrested should be entered, not a restraint record.
