Separate buttons for CRSE/SCSE in Fall 2 and for SDEM, CRSC, SCSC in EOY
Please add separate buttons for CRSE and SCSE in the Fall 2 tab of the CALPADS Extracts page. Our SCSE had 137788 records this year. It takes way too long to run, when all I need is a CRSE and SCSE runs first. It also bogs down the system, and I'd rather only run SCSE when I need to, instead of every time I'm just updating CRSE (which happens quite a bit towards the end of Fall 2 when I'm just updating section settings, but not class rosters/CAR).
Likewise, EOY should have 3 separate buttons for SDEM, CRSC, and SCSC…
1 voteThank you for the enhancement request. At this time, we will not be moving forward with separating the CRSE and SCSE buttons for Fall 2 or the SDEM, CRSC, and SCSC buttons for End‑of‑Year. These files are intentionally grouped because their extract processes are functionally dependent on one another. Running them together helps prevent data mismatches, validation errors, and submission issues within CALPADS.
Maintaining this grouped process ensures data consistency and supports accurate reporting, so the current design will remain in place.

Calpads Log Details Page After Import
When importing student data, for example birthdays for corrections, the calpads log details page does not update appropriately for the SINF. The SINF still pulls the old birthday value. If we import data, that should be the correct value that pulls on the SINF we should not have to manually go back and delete the incorrect birthdays on the log detail page as well. It would be great if this could be fixed.
1 voteThank you for the suggestion—while we understand how this behavior can be confusing when reviewing CALPADS log details, we’re not moving forward with this enhancement because Aeries already extracts the correct SINF data by ignoring the change date in the log details and instead using the student’s enrollment date; as a result, even if older birthday values remain visible on the log detail page, the extract will still report the correct, updated data, no incorrect information is sent to CALPADS, and no manual cleanup is necessary as the system is functioning as intended. https://support.aeries.com/support/solutions/articles/14000115362-calpads-log-details If you notice different behavior, please open a ticket with Aeries Support. -
CALPADS CRSC/CRSE - Adjust to no Longer Extract Code 23 - College Credit Only
Adjust the extracts to exclude code 23 – College Credit Only.
3 votesAfter more correspondence with CDE it has been determined that College Course Level code 23 needs to remain available in Aeries. LEAs will need to be sure they are populating it correctly. College-level courses are those where the LEA/school has courses open for students to enroll in. This is not when a student takes a college course independently on their own that has no association or oversight with the school/LEA.
We are no longer purusing this change. The idea will be closed.

CALPADS no longer allow special characters in Contacts
CALPADS SINF is pulling parent contact names causing an Invalid Character error.
16 votesThis is a CALPADS bug on their end. They DO intend to allow these special characters again, so we will not be changing our process at this time. If the
SINF update is needed, the customer either needs to make it manually in OM, or remove the offending characters from Aeries, but ALSO delete the CALPADS log entries for that change (the ones that contain the offending characters) so they won't be extracted also.

CALPADS Extract Pull From LSI.GN
Can we please have the extract pull from the LSI.GN field if the student has data populated in that field? It makes sense to extract from that field, particularly since if the LIS.LLN and LSI.LFN is populated that data gets extracted. We have a student (and surely more to come) that identify as a different gender. Populating the STU.GN with the students preferred gender is causing CALPADS fatal errors.
31 votesThe definition for Student Gender in CALPADS CSF document is posted below. Therefore, until that guidance is changed by CALPADS, we will continue to pull from the Preferred Gender field (STU.GN):
SINF Field 2.19: Student Gender Code - A coded value representing the person's gender. Gender is a person's actual sex or perceived sex and includes a person's perceived identity, appearance or behavior, whether or not that identity, appearance, or behavior is different from that traditionally associated with a person's sex at birth.
The code values reported are: M, F or X.

Update the auto-creation process for SPRG Code 185-TK program records to verify the grade level
Update the auto-creation process for SPRG Code 185-TK program records to verify the grade level of the actual ENR records to determine the start date of the TK program record, if it changed after the beginning of the student's enrollment record that year. The SPRG TK record should start as of the first day of TK enrollment for the school year.
18 votesNo longer needed since Program 185 it not a valid program record any longer.
