1. Attendance Recovery Tracking & Reporting

   CDE new mandate requires that students may only earn attendance recovery minutes in full one-hour increments. Fractions of an hour are not eligible to be counted toward recovery. This creates a challenge when tracking student participation. Current Aeries functionality does not automatically differentiate between “time attended” and “time eligible for recovery credit.”
   1. Apply CDE Hour-Block Rule – System calculates and credits only full hours toward recovery.
   Example: 35 minutes = 0 hours earned; 1 hour 45 minutes = 1 hour earned; 2 hours 55 minutes = 2 hours earned
   2. Flag Eligible vs. Ineligible Time – Store both sets of data (total time vs. credited hours) for transparency.
   3. Generate Audit-Friendly Reports – Exportable reports that show: Total time attended; Credited hours applied toward attendance recovery; Ineligible minutes (so auditors can see what was excluded)

   4/2/26 - Recent updates to Attendance Recovery

   Yesterday’s release contained quite a few items related to Attendance Recovery that we wanted to bring to your attention:

   • We’ve updated our Workflow AR document to make it clear about new set-up tasks that must be completed in order for the process to function properly.
   • A new District Setting for ADA Make-Up has been added and must be defined in order to enable this new functionality.
   • A new field (ATT.AMU) has been added to store Attendance Minutes Utilized when ADA Make-Up is applied for Attendance Recovery.
   • Minutes will be auto-calculated based on the student's Special Ed Alternate Minimum Day, school type, or grade level, depending on which applies.
   • We will be adding a process soon to automatically update the ATT.AMU field for any existing absences previously recovered via AR.
   • We’ve added the Attendance Recovery Bank page that provides a read-only view of each student's AR summary data.
   • Total Session Days/Hours Earned/Minutes Earned (from ATD)
   • Total Verified Absences/Absences Recovered/AR Minutes Utilized (from ATT)
   • Total AR Minutes Available (Total Minutes Earned – Minutes Utilized
   • Recoverable Absences available (Verified Absences – Absences Recovered)
   • A Mass Calculate AR Data for All Students button is available on the Attendance Recovery Bank page to trigger recalculation of AR data for all students with ATD records.
   • We will be adding a process soon to automatically update the AR Minutes Utilized (ATT.AMU) field for any existing absences previously recovered.
