If you leave assignments as "Ungraded" in GC they won't get imported which is probably the best workaround.
We still have issues with importing unwanted old assignments so it would be great to be able to limit imports by date or using GC's new "grading period" option.
There is a setting on the Aeries admin side that can limit assignment imports to those assigned within 21 days but that isn't long enough to capture late work so most districts don't enable it.

We have the opposite problem where Aeries is importing GC assignments from a previous term...
