Situation: Students' parents have high expectations. Student failed a test. I want to allow student to see grade at home so student can process the grade (also, trying to avoid tears in class as many would rather be able to cry about their grade, but not in front of everyone and sometimes they can't help but tear up a bit). If I post the grades, student can see it to process, but parents can also see it. It's a student's grade. I want to have the ability for only them to know for a period of time before parents are also allowed to see it.
