Public Course Catalog, by School
Better search/display of the Courses in a 'Course Catalog'. Ideally it would be a form inside of the
User/Admin/Teacher/Student/Parent portals, as well as publicly accessible. Parents and students would like to
see the full course description in a clean & clear way to digest the course catalog when they are making
course requests.Instead of exporting the course catalog from Aeries and posting separately online, we would like to direct families ( current, future, & past ) to a PUBLIC link that does not require a sign-in to search courses.
We would like it search able by subject, department, pre-reqs,…

Aeries DR - Disaster Recovery for On Prem Clients
Ability for Aeries to keep a hot-spare backup of on-prem AeriesSQL data in the Aeries Hosted Cloud.
District would need a way to send data to Aeries nightly
Ability for Aeries to verify SQL backup was received / checked
Ability for Aeries Hosted to be turned on after an issue
Would be an added cost, but would provide Districts a solution for Districts experiencing an emergency ( Fire / Cryptolocker issue /
Server failure / extended power outage / network infrastructure issue ).1 vote -
Allow us to generate overall percentages for entire classes.
Allows instructors to see very clearly what total points for each class are, and what the average percentage of all students is.

Create a Seating Chart Report to run for ALL classes at once
You can print a Seating Chart from the screen however there is no report that can be generated for ALL seating charts like the old seating chart. It is rather frustrating to have to print a chart, pull up the next seating chart, click print, pull up the next chart etc. There needs to be one report for ALL.
In addition wen running report by Seating Chart new option, allow the ability to select which seating chart to print. Currently it is using the Default but sometimes a teacher has multiple charts for same period.

Scheduling Master Schedule Board report: add visual cue for Class Linked sections
On the Flex SMS Board, a visual cue is displayed to highlight sections with Class Links. It would be nice if Class Linked sections were identified in some way on the Scheduling Master Schedule Board report. At minimum, a cell border. If the Class Link number could fit, that would be great. Also, it would be great if this worked for both Flex and non-Flex schools.

Attendance Audit Listing report: add "Unverified Absences older than __ days" error
Could a single error message print first on the report, if the school has Unverified Absence codes in ATT.AL (I don't know if it would be necessary for Period absences?) and they are older than two weeks? 30 days?
I don't think the error has to specify the student(s) or date(s). I was imagining something like this: "Unverified Absence code(s) in the All Day field exist and are older than fourteen days. Run the Students with Unverified Absences report or load the Attendance Management page for more details."

The student's At-Risk Indicators would be a helpful addition to the information provided on the Profile page.

Scheduling Master Schedule/Master Schedule section numbers: add control and/or customization
Customers often want to use the section number to hold and provide information (period, room number, grade level, etc.,) instead of using the unique number assigned by Aeries.
If it is feasible in NextGen, it would be nice if the section number could have options for customization, so that if the customer wanted a system, it would be easier to impose and serve their needs.

Gradebook: add Override for Scale Min/Max Assignment Values in Total Grade option
Gradebook has an option: Scale Min/Max Assignment Values in Total Grade. The Min often set to 50 to avoid giving a student a "nuclear F." At the spring 2023 conference, a customer asked for an override to be added. So, in most cases, with the option selected for the Gradebook, the Min as set would be in effect. But for a specific student/assignment/score, the minimum could be overridden so that a zero score (or some score below the Min) would be applied. The specific use case scenario mentioned was a student who plagiarized the assignment.

Scheduling Exclusions: add (optional) "For this specific Course or Courses" to student exclusion
For Scheduling Exclusions by student, if a student exclusion could be limited to particular Courses, that might actually make scheduling easier. The example provided was for a PE Course. PE would prefer an exclusion, but other courses might not need the exclusion to be honored.

Course Requests Entry on Student/Parent Portal: add options to modify/limit entries
When Course Requests are collected on paper, instructions are provided to the students/parents. These instructions can be more restrictive and granular than what the Student/Parent Portal currently allows for. For example, it would be nice if an "Entry Options" was provided so that the school could set a max number of Primary Requests per individual Subject Area/Department Code. Or if the Course Requests Entry could allow different restrictions on Course Requests based on different Grade Levels and/or other student characteristics. And if specific Subject Areas/Course Requests or all could be available/not available for the Portal Groups to edit (some Course…

Flex/Section Staff Conversion: copy Teachers (TCH) data to Staff Scheduling Info (SSI)
When a school converts from traditional scheduling to Flex scheduling and/or if they start to use Section Staff, can certain fields from TCH (for example, TCH.RM, TCH.MS, TCH.LO, TCH.HI) be copied to the SSI fields for the appropriate school and staff record? Those would be SSI.RM, SSI.MX, SSI.LO, and SSI.HI in my example.
The reason I'm asking is to save customers some data entry work, especially if they have to do this manually.

Enhance Password Validation
Add functionality to validate a password on insert and/or update to the UGN table. Additionally, check against banned passwords and prompt user if an invalid password is detected. Log the last time a password was validated and do not include it in the "Print Users with Invalid Passwords" report if no changes have been made since that date.

Attendance Letters: Attendance Letters History page
It would be helpful for school staff to have all the Attendance Letters sent viewable in one place. After Attendance Letters are finalized and sent, a button like "Generate Attendance Letters History" could be provided. When the button is pressed, the letter sent to the student would be added to an Attendance Letters History page (similar to Report Card History). Then school/district staff could see all letters sent in one place and if the Parent Portal group has permissions to the Attendance Letters History page, parents could see all letters sent on the Parent Portal.

Class Calendar label: standardize (always call it the same shortened name)
On various pages and reports, the column for the Class Calendar uses different labels. Examples: Scheduling Master Schedule Details report: Days. Class Load Analysis and Locator Cards reports: Calendar. Course Requests: Meets. I think it should always use the same label. Suggestions: Days, CCal, ClCal?
